Rules & Eligibility
What You Need to Know
Key rules governing how points are earned, counted, and applied toward season standings and awards.
- Players must be current AGA members with an active GHIN handicap index to be eligible for points.
- Points are awarded to all players who complete an event — you do not need to finish in a top position to earn points.
- Ties in finishing position share the average of the tied positions' points, rounded to the nearest whole point.
- In team events (Best Ball), both partners receive the full points for the team's finishing position.
- A minimum of 3 sanctioned events must be completed to be eligible for Player of the Year consideration.
- All 5 events count toward your season total — there is no drop event or best-of calculation.
- Rankings are updated within 48 hours of the conclusion of each event.
- Ties in the final season standings are broken first by number of wins, then by events played.
- Senior players who compete in both Open and Senior divisions receive points in both division standings.
- Points do not carry over between seasons. Each season starts fresh in the spring.
